Fort Vancouver Pipe Band (FVPB), a Non-Profit organization, is the premiere Pipe & Drums Band in Clark County of Washington State (United States of America).

Sponsored by a variety of organizations and agencies, such as the City of Vancouver (USA), they are recognized by their choice to wear the official Washington State Tartan (seen in the backdrop for this Web Site).

Formed in 1998, by officers and volunteer sergeants of the old 78th Fraser Highlanders Association (currently a historical and educational organization), FVPB was to support the aims of the 78th Frasers' regimental doctrine under their headquarters in Montreal.

Since its founding, FVPB has spun-off to establish their own presence as a local, regional Pipe Band but retains two of the original specific aims:

    1.  Foster an appreciation for the sacrifices and commitment to service given by forbearers in the 78th Frasers and other military services that have helped to make North America great;

    2. Support schools for young pipers and drummers.

MISSION STATEMENT

Serve and support events which emphasize veteran, historic and commemorative events, historical societies with emphasis on regional colorful history, contributions to history begun at Fort Vancouver by The Hudson's Bay Company, and recognition of Dr. John McLoughlin's and his officers' superb leadership that established the character of the Pacific Northwest.

FVPB provides a program that includes:

1. Support of existing pipe bands and individual players in the local region who seek to improve their level of performance;

2. Workshops and training sessions (by leading pipers and drummers in the region);

3. Scholarships for individuals to attend piping and drumming schools.
