There is an abundance of natural and national attractions surrounding the Southwest region of Washington.
Fort Vancouver Just a couple of minutes east of Vancouver City proper and north across the mighty Columbia River, this national historic monument is the rebuilt Trading Outpost of the Hudson Bay Company. Established in 1825 after the Lewis & Clarke expedition its manager John McLoughlin was a Chief Factor of the Hudson's Bay Company. Soon it was the controlling centre of the (Old) Oregon Territories, but was later abandoned in 1860.

Maryhill Museum Located 2 hours east of Vancouver on SR-14 (The Columbia Gorge National Scenic Highway), this magnificent castle and surrounding gardens renders a stunning view overlooking the Columbia River. A must for any tourist to see first-hand.
